Adhesive-free Closure for Lab and Pharma Containers

A family of closures (caps) for sensitive laboratory and pharmaceutical containers uses no adhesives, a principal contamination source. Pawling Corp., Pawling, N.Y. (cepure.com) offers all widely used closure styles with adhesive-free bonded-in liners, ready for packaging lines. Cepure closures are available for single and multiple-use applications. Cepure liners mechanically bond to the closures with no adhesives. The company says the liners will not fall out during handling and volatiles in certain Cepure barrier and elastomer materials are at half the level of currently available barriers.

Hi-purity closures with Cepure 1000 liners are available in all standard constructions and materials suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and syringe-filled reagent containers, where contamination cannot be tolerated. They are also said to be ideal for long-term storage requiring absolute inertness.

Custom constructions, materials, and color options are also available. Depending on specifications, barriers may be PP, PTFE, or FEP. Elastomer choices include silicone, butyl, Viton, fluorosilicone, 14B rubber, and EPDM.
