Veterinarians need to be equipped to handle medical emergencies for everything from horses to hamsters. To make that job a little easier, engineers at JD Medical Distributors, Phoenix, Ariz. (www.jdmedical.com) designed an anesthesia machine ventilator that handles both small and large animals. It delivers O2 and N20 at anywhere from 0 to 10 lpm, together with concentrations of halothan and isoflurane of up to 5%. The machine is simple enough to let an unassisted vet control it at all times.
