BeamOne to open Costa Rica service center
Sterilization-service firm BeamOne LLC, San Diego, (www.beam-one.com) says it will build a state-of-the-art electron beam sterilization facility in Costa Rica to serve that country's growing medical device and pharmaceutical industries. The company will build in the new Coyol Free Zone & Business Park now under construction just outside the capital of San José. “The new service center will employ about 16 people at first and run 24/7 when it comes on line early 2008,” says BeamOne director of customer relations Susie Perlman. “The facility will be able to sterilize several million cubic feet of product per year.” The firm also operates plants in California, Colorado, and Ohio.
“We are impressed with the successful growth and commitment of the medical-device industry in Costa Rica,” says BeamOne President and CEO Ray Calhoun. “Manufacturers will be able to deliver goods directly to European and Asian markets without the cost and time of shipping first to the U.S. for sterilization.”
