Conveyor with curves carries 150-lb cartons
A recent flat-belt conveyor can come with 45, 90, and 180° curves. The Sanitary 7600 from Dorner Manufacturing Corp., Hartland, Wisc., (dorner.com) moves loads to 150 lb at speeds to 173 ft/min (measured at the curve centerline). The 304 stainless-steel frame is continuous TIG welded and has a #4 polish on all outside surfaces. Bearings are 400 stainless steel with H1 FDA lubricant. The units come with a stainless-steel rod wearstrip bedplate which keeps the conveyor belt from sticking when wet, a 5-in. diameter pinch-roller drive with cast-on urethane lagging, and FDA-approved belts and plastic components. A tool-less, quick-release belt tensioner allows for quick and effective sanitation.
