Cook Medical to create 200 jobs in Ireland

Cook Medical announced that it will generate 200 new jobs through a $35.79 million (25 million euros) expansion of its manufacturing plant in Limerick, where 500 persons currently work.

The Limerick facility makes devices for use in urology, gastroenterology, and women's health, and will be the sole manufacturing site for Cook’s stent product, Zilver PTX, used in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease.

Cook had revenues of $1.25 billion in 2007.
