CoorsTek acquires Gaiser Tool

Technical ceramics supplier CoorsTek, Golden, Colo., (coorstek.com) has acquired Gaiser Tool Co, a ceramic precision tooling manufacturer in Ventura, Calif. Gaiser Tool has contributed to the wire-bonding technology required for rapid growth of semiconductor packaging. The company invented the first alumina ceramic capillary in 1970 and developed a superior process for ultra-fine-pitch bonding to produce bottleneck-style premium ceramic capillaries with exceptional strength and durability.

CoorsTek will retain the Gaiser brand while infusing technical and material innovations to further enhance the company's market position. With precision ceramic tools capable of part dimensions as small as 2 µm, CoorsTek also expects to expand its micro-component capabilities for several markets.
