Hi-Tech Group buys Ventrex and Accusil
Hi-Tech Group, Anaheim, Calif. (hi-tech-group.com) has completed the purchase of two FDA registered and ISO-13485 firms that Chairman Neil Martin says expands the company's technical expertise and geographic influence. “Development teams often invite our engineers to join them at prototype stages to develop compounds, tooling, and take that into component production,” says Martin. “Most elastomeric components are housed in rigid thermoplastics, so we gained plastic skill when we acquired Inland Technologies in 2005. Now we have taken the next step into device contract manufacturing with the purchase of Ventrex Inc., Ventura, Calif.” It is an outsource company for complete medical equipment with a specialization in electromechanical devices. The company's in-house assembly capabilities include fiber-optic know how as well as plastic-part design and injection molding. “HTG is now invited in at concept stages to assist in the fundamental design of the device and their components,” says Martin.
“Device companies also want to source geographically. The recent acquisition of Accusil in Merrilville, Ind., gives us that capability,” he adds.
