Jabil launches single-use device business

Electronics-maker Jabil, St. Petersburg, FL, (jabil.com) announced its single-use device (SUD) business. With about 85,000 employees at facilities in 22 countries, Jabil says its SUD outsourcing business will provide customers with global services including design, tooling, molding, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and logistics. Product capabilities include drug-delivery products catheters, and diagnostic and laboratory disposables.

“Outsourcing is becoming a growing industry trend because it helps reduce costs, speeds up time to market, and allows medical companies to focus on their core competencies,” says Tony Allan, vice president global business units, Jabil.

Jabil's global ISO13485 certified design centers vertically source tooling from ISO13485 Asia facilities. With 25 years of plastics molding expertise, the company provides expertise on engineered resins such as thermoplastic elastomers and urethanes, and silicone rubber. Class 6, 7 and 8 clean room environments are available for device assembly.

Other services include logistics and order fulfillment: Services include lowest landed cost analysis, transportation, logistics optimization, and direct fulfillment capabilities.
