Lasers Ready for Microfluidics, Nanotech, and BioMEMS

Contract manufacturer and laser builder Resonetics Inc., Nashua, N.H. (resonetics.com) converts drawings into finished prototypes with its Rapid X Series of lasers. The software translates .dwg, .dxf, .hpgl, and other formats to laser CNC code to produce finished prototypes. The company says prototypes finish in minutes with 2µm optical resolution. The company has 50 excimer-laser micromachining systems, reportedly the most in the U.S., along with two clean room facilities that it operates under ISO 9001 guidelines.
