Quickly Sharpen, Deburr, and Polish Parts

Custom engineered, automatic, wet-processing systems are for electrosharpening, deburring, and polishing metal parts where high precision, repeatability, and low unit costs are critical. Matfab Technologies Inc., Warwick, R.I., (metfabtech.com) says the systems handle parts including electronic components, superconductor substrates, and medical devices such as catheters, scalpels, saws, and screens. Part materials include stainless steel, Monel, Hastelloy, and titanium alloys.

The company equips systems with appropriate reel-to-reel and parts-feeding technologies, fixtures, conveyors, tanks, and controls. Systems handle parts ranging in size from millimeters up to 20 in2. The company says the systems feature greater piece-to-piece uniformity than batch methods while providing large increases in throughput over manual methods.
