Custom-engineered thermoplastic compounder RTP Co (rtpcompany.com) has established a climate-controlled, positive-pressure manufacturing center dedicated to production of clean compounds for sensitive medical-manufacturing applications at its Winona, MN, headquarters. The 3,300-sq.ft. center can extrude almost any RTP material, and includes post-extrusion operations such as cooling, pelletizing, classifying, and packaging. Extruders are fully automated with touch-screen controls that allow complete process monitoring and data acquisition. Compounds produced in the facility suit applications that require extensive data recording and traceability during manufacturing.
