Sekisui Voltek offers antimicrobial foam products

Sekisui Voltek, a manufacturer of crosslinked polyolefin foams, partnered with Microban International, Ltd to provide antimicrobial product. Sekisui Voltek plans to incorporate Microban antimicrobial product protection into a new line of foam targeting consumer products such as baby bath pads, sports padding such as cycle helmets, point of purchase counter mats, as well as commercial products in building and construction such as HVAC systems, weather sealing, ducting, gaskets and floor underlay where moisture and condensation are prevalent.

Microban, an additive infused during manufacturing, is used in Sekisui Voltek's Volara, Volextra, and Minicel product lines. This provides protection against the growth of bacteria that can cause stains, odors, and product degradation. Microban is odorless, colorless, and tasteless and works by intercepting stain and odor causing bacteria at the product's edge and surface, inhibiting their growth. Microban protection is continuous and won't wash off or wear away, so Sekisui Voltek products will remain protected for the lifetime of the foam.
