Short-run Bagging System Eliminates Waste and Wait

Short-packaging runs often create bag waste and product queuing. Two new packaging systems from Automated Packaging Systems, Streetsboro, Ohio, (autobag.com) alleviate this problem by printing and indexing in one step.

The Autobag AB 180 One-Step and AB 255 OneStep machines place the PI 412c imprinter directly over the next bag to be loaded, so it prints and indexes in a single step to ensure accuracy and efficiency during frequent product and label changeovers. Bag sizes can be changed in less than two minutes.

The AB 180 packages small to medium products in bags up to 11-in. wide and 25-in. long. The AB 255 is available in vertical or horizontal configurations, and works for larger products with bag sizes up to 16-in. wide and 27-in. long.

Both systems work as standard Print-n-Pack systems or can be integrated with laptop computers, bar code scanners, and stand-alone keyboards. Maintenance is completed by an easy-to-use AutoTouch Control Screen with tilt-back printer head. The systems works with shipping and customer databases for 1:1 fulfillment, packing, and shipping.
