Solectron manufacturing for CSA Medical

After eight years of invention, testing, product development and clinical trials, CSA Medical's CryoSpray Ablation system is rolling off an assembly line at Solectron Corp., Charlotte, N.C. manufacturing facility. Solectron manages orders and ships to CSA Medical customers. CSA Medical and Solectron have worked together since August 2006 to establish a lean supply chain and manufacturing operation. Baltimore-based CSA Medical developed the ablation system, which freezes and destroys unwanted tissues in the esophagus that arises from chronic acid reflux. Some 65 million U.S. citizens suffer from the condition. The 10 to 20-min. procedure uses a catheter to transport and spray liquid nitrogen under low pressure through an endoscope to freeze the tissue.
