A C3PO of data readers
A fixed-mount ID reader is said to be capable of reading printed bar codes as well as the most challenging 2D direct-marked codes. The DataMan 100 reader from Cognex Corp., Natik, Mass., (cognex.com), provides high code-reading performance and simplicity in a package smaller than a flip phone. “What's more, the reader is quick and easy to deploy even for first time users,” says Cognex Senior Vice President Justin Testa.
The unit's IDQuick software, a decoding tool, lets the unit quickly read well-formed codes, according to the company. A model with IDMax software is also available for reading the most challenging direct-part-mark codes. The reader comes with built in illumination, beeper, adjustable optics, an aimer, and push-button trigger.
