ON Semiconductor, Phoenix, ( onsemi.com) opened Solutions Engineering Centers (SEC) in Portland, Ore. and Taipei, Taiwan. These facilities are located near existing customers' facilities and will expand ON Semiconductor's local service capabilities by providing on-site technical expertise and new product development. Both SECs will develop advanced power management equipment for the computer power and power-conversion markets.

The Portland SEC is headed by Bernie Boland, who has more than 20 years experience in field applications, marketing, business development, and management. The SEC in Taiwan is headed by Alvin Chang, who has more than 14 years experience in semiconductor design, field applications, marketing, business development, and management.
