The key to Moving Data
Engineers at Datakey Electronics, Savage, Minn., (datakeyelectronics.com) have been designing data transport devices for OEMs for almost three decades. The devices are used to move and control access to data and machinery, calibrate and upgrade hardware and software, confirm identities, and even open doors. Just recently, they upgraded two of their most popular offerings, the Datakey and SlimLine Tokens, for use in the medical industry. They are now made out of plastic that withstands autoclave and EtO sterilization. Testing (265 °F at 20 psi for 30 min) shows they will survive many autoclave cycles.
