Pulsable emitter for infrared applications
The PIRELCby Cal Sensors, Santa Rosa, CA, is a high-output emitter that can be used as a pulsed or steady-state source of blackbody radiation for near-to-far infrared applications. Hence, the name, PIRELC ,which stands for “pulsable infrared emitter, low cost.” The PIRELC offers high output (4x10-2 watts/cm2 at 1 in. filament) and is available at a 93% cost savings compared to traditional high-output infrared emitters. Applications include medical gas analysis, process control instrumentation, spectroscopy, and plastics sorting. The pulsable emitter offers enhanced signal-to-noise ratio, is compatible with a wide range of detector technologies, and comes in an industry-standard T0-5 header package.
