The PIRE^LCby Cal Sensors, Santa Rosa, CA, is a high-output emitter that can be used as a pulsed or steady-state source of blackbody radiation for near-to-far infrared applications. Hence, the name, PIRE^LC ,which stands for “pulsable infrared emitter, low cost.” The PIRE^LC offers high output (4x10^-2 watts/cm² at 1 in. filament) and is available at a 93% cost savings compared to traditional high-output infrared emitters.
