AdvaMedDx, a division of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) that is focused solely on opportunities and challenges facing companies that discover, develop, and manufacture diagnostic technologies, announced veteran policy analyst Tharini Sathiamoorthy will join the group as its new associate vice president.

Sathiamoorthy brings a decade of experience in public and government affairs and health policy analysis. Most recently, she served as a senior associate in the health policy practice at APCO Worldwide, a leading public affairs firm. While at APCO, Sathiamoorthy’s work included federal policy outreach and analysis and stakeholder and ally development for a wide range of clients, including medical device and diagnostics manufacturers.

Prior to APCO, Sathiamoorthy managed a wide range of Medicare and Medicaid projects for the Lewin Group and the Marwood Group. Earlier in her career, Sathiamoorthy coordinated government affairs and health policy activities for the American College of Physicians and was a legislative analyst for Dean Blakey & Moskowitz.

“Tharini’s extensive expertise working with federal policy makers, providing health policy analysis, and developing strategic alliances will be instrumental in advancing the advocacy efforts important to AdvaMedDx,” says Andrew Fish, executive director of AdvaMedDx. “We are delighted to have Tharini on board.  She will be a valuable asset in our mission to provide timely patient access to safe and effective diagnostic tests by establishing risk-based regulation and modernizing the antiquated Medicare payment system.”
