Senors for hip and knee simulators

Redesigned LCF400 tension and compression load cells by Futek are used by manufacturers of artificial joints and robotic limbs. Multiple pancake-type load cells are used in both hip and knee simulator machines, which allow friction and wear tests of multiple joints simultaneously for endurance testing and determining mean time between failure. The LCF400 is available with USB output and metric threads and is offered in 500 to 5,000 lbs., outputs of 3 mV/V, +/-5Vdc, +/-10Vdc, 4-20 mA), is constructed of heat-treated 17-4 stainless steel, and handles off-center loading. Performance characteristics include zero-joint failure and low impact due to extraneous loads.
