MDS series of surface-mount, micro-miniature, snap-acting detect switches by C&K Components, Newton, Mass., are used in advanced mezzanine cards for improved data integrity in medical applications such as high-end ultrasound equipment and black boxes. The switches are available in vertical or right-angle PCB-mount styles. They have a long total travel (distance between operating and release position) of 2.9 mm. The contact rating is 0.3A @ 6Vdc. Contact resistance is 200 mohms. Mechanical and electrical life is 10,000 operations.
