Temperature and humidity control for small-batch manufacturing

Consistent temperature and humidity are necessary for critical lab processes and medical manufacturing. The Micro-Environment Control System (MECS) from JS Humidifiers plc in the U.K. (jshumidifiers.com) delivers between 110 and 200 liters/sec ±21/sec of air with temperature controlled to within ±0.1°C and ±1%rH for any length of time. Temperatures range from 15 to 45°C and humidity ranges from 30 to 98%rH. Previously, humidifiers couldn't do better than keep humidity levels to within ±5%rH. The self-contained MECS is constructed of 316 stainless steel and has casters, so it can be rolled from room to room. It is sized to fit through a single doorway. A built-in modem lets off-site technicians monitor the device's performance, which should avoid unscheduled downtime.
