Tyco Electronics separates from Tyco International
Tyco Electronics Ltd., Berwyn, Pa. (tycoelectronics.com) has officially split from Tyco International to become an independent, publicly-traded company. “We are a $12.8 billion global provider of electronic components, network solutions, and wireless systems, with more than 60 years of innovation and experience,” says CEO Tom Lynch. The company, with 100,000 employees around the world, conducts its business through three segments: Electronic Components is a supplier of passive electronic components, which includes connectors and interconnect systems, relays, switches, circuit protection devices, touch screens, sensors, and wires and cable. Network Solutions is a global supplier of infrastructure components for the telecommunications and energy markets, and Wireless Systems develops wireless technology for communications, radar, and defense applications.
