A new simplifying wizard compliments the existing direct-edit tools in VX CAD/CAM software from VX Corp., Palm Bay, Fla., (vx.com). The additions make the software well adapted to designing packages. Current VX tools allow editing imported models as though they were native geometry, even if the imported geometry is of poor quality. The simplify wizard removes entire model features and closes the resulting holes in faces that remain. Removing insignificant details can speed package design.
