An information-packed, thought-provoking conference program awaits attendees of theMedical Silicone Conference – Anaheim, Nov 3-4. Steve Halasey of the Washington, DC-based Institute for Health Technology Studies will discuss what medical device companies need to do to prepare for “an evidence-based future” that he says will come from healthcare reform. 

The ABCs of NDAs (non-disclosure agreements) will be the subject of a general session talk by Medical Design contributor, author of The Medical Device R&D Handbook, and founder and President of Cannuflow, San Jose, CA, Ted Kucklick. He’ll discuss the following: the basic elements of an NDA; requirements for enforcing NDAs; and what not to sign.

A session on the ins and outs of intellectual property will discuss patents, trade secrets, trademarks, copyrights, and requirements for establishing each, with an emphasis on requirements for patentability and the function of patent specifications and patent claims. Davy Crockett of Crockett-Crockett, Laguna, Hills, CA-based specialists in portfolio management and strategic planning, will share his expertise.
