Stanley B&D to buy healthcare tech company

Stanley Black & Decker’s (Indianapolis) $61.2 million acquisition of Hatboro, PA-based InfoLogix, Inc, a provider of enterprise mobility and wireless asset tracking solutions for the healthcare industry, is expected to close early in the first quarter of this year.

Stanley's addition of InfoLogix broadens its healthcare growth platform, bringing an established provider of mobile workstations and asset tracking solutions into its fold, which includes healthcare products such as monitors for newborns and seniors and medical carts and storage cabinets for hospitals. As part of Stanley Healthcare Solutions, InfoLogix’s business will be positioned to extend its reach in healthcare and commercial markets by having access to the resources, brand equity, and global supply chain of an S&P 500 company says Dave Gulian, president and CEO of InfoLogix. Conversely, Brian Kaner, CFO and COO of Stanley Convergent Security/Healthcare Solutions, says InfoLogix's strategic technology consulting services will enable Stanley to assist clients in improving workflow, productivity, and profitability using enterprise mobility solutions.
