Laser-sintering systems and materials
Electro Optical Systems (EOS) GmbH, Frankfurt, has introduced new laser-sintering systems, as well as new metal and plastic materials. An enhanced system for direct metal laser-sintering (DMLS) is said to improve part quality and repeatability, while providing a higher cost efficiency and improved usability. The most recently developed metal material, EOS NickelAlloy IN625, is designed to be used with DMLS to build complex parts for high-temperature and high-strength applications. According to the company, the process achieves material properties that are comparable to wrought metals. The company has also introduced two new plastic materials: PrimePart FR (PA 2241 FR), a nonflammable material, and PrimePart ST (PEBA 2301), a flexible.
