NuSil Technology's Bakersfield facility (nusil.com) has become a registered manufacturing site with the Food and Drug Administration. The move comes on the heels of the company's 2004 acquisition of the ingestible Simethicone products from GE Advanced Materials Division. NuSil expanded its Bakersfield operations with a new facility and installation of specialized manufacturing equipment to support the Simethicone product line. Sales and support of the line continues at the company's headquarters in Carpinteria, Calif. NuSil manufactures silicone compounds used in the healthcare industry.
