Latin America Busy with Clinical Trials
A streamlined regulatory environment in Latin America has helped spur 20% growth in the number of international clinical trials over four years, according to PPD, a global contract research organization. Currently, there are 323 open trials for devices and drugs in Brazil, 292 in Mexico and 107 in Colombia, reports Wendy Buckland, PPD's vice president of clinical development for Latin America at the contract research organization PPD.
