Readers say FDA budget is fine
Last month’ MedicalDesign.com reader poll asked respondents to indicate whether the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) federally funded budget of $272 million should be adjusted, following comments made by FDA’s Jeffrey Shuren during a recent congressional hearing.
Shuren is CDRH director. He stated his firm belief that FDA requires more funding. That belief, however, isn’t shared by MedicalDesign.com readers. An overwhelming majority of Poll participants believe FDA funding should be decreased (71%), while only 18% believe it should be increased. Eleven percent are fine with letting it remain the same.
This month’s Reader Poll is a follow up to a recent challenge issued by MDMA’s Tom Novelli at last month’s MSC (see this issue’s editorial). We encourage you to weigh in on the topic.
