Webinar to focus on speeding product development

Discover how advances in stereolithography technology and resins can speed up your product development. That’s the focus of a free webinar hosted by Omnexus and DSM Somos on April 19. The webinar will explore how advances in stereolithography technology and resin have changed the rapid manufacturing landscape. It will also look at how do these advances can help accelerate the product development cycle from months to days?

The webinar will present the latest technical improvements in rapid manufacturing technology, highlighting the recent advances in stereolithography technology and resins. It will cover an introduction to stereolithography as well as how stereolithography can significantly lower product development cycle times. Case studies on prototyping, customized parts for medical, rapid manufacturing, and tooling will be presented.

The agenda includes:

  1. Introduction to Stereolithography (SL):
    • How the technology works: including latest advancements in rapid manufacturing technology and materials.
  2. How SL can drastically reduce your product development cycle times:
    • Prototyping-form, fit, and function in a few days vs. 1-2 months.
    • Thermoplastic-like resins - how they will perform for you.
    • Biocompatible resins to accelerate process validation for medical parts.
  3. Case Study Sharing:
    • Prototyping - functional not fragile in 1-2 days vs. months.
    • Customized parts for medical - reducing cost and risk.
    • Rapid manufacturing and tooling - how does SL compare.

The presenter is Gopi Sethu Rao, PhD, business development manager of Medical Technologies for DSM Somos, an unincorporated subsidiary of UV-curable materials company, DSM Desotech. Dr. Rao is a chemical engineer with experience in nano-colloids, surface science, and membranes. He has consulted in product development and corporate strategy for Fortune-1000 companies.
