Collaboration results in guiding catheters

Biomedical materials supplier DSM (dsm.com) and vascular catheter developer PendraCare (pendracare.com), both based in The Netherlands, announced the launch of PendraCare's PRIMIUM guiding catheters that use ComfortCoat hydrophilic coating by DSM.

The ultra low friction coating aids in smooth catheter introduction and positioning by lowering friction in tortuous and calcified anatomy and reducing the risk of vessel wall trauma, while significantly extending the catheter’s effectiveness over prolonged procedure times. The coating’s no slip-stick effect results in more accurate positioning in ostial lesions and reduced catheter friction results in real 1:1 torque control of the tip.
