Ultraprecise, hollow-shaft motorized spindle
Hollow-shaft brushless dc motorized spindles have air gaps between the shaft and spindle housing (0.0002 to 0.0004-in.), and shaft runouts held within 0.0003 in. This draws a vacuum from the spindle housing and through the hollow shaft, without contact seals.
The motor produces 5 oz-in. of torque at 15,000 rpm and comes in a 2.20-in.-OD × 3.18-in. long housing. The spindle features a 1,024-line, two-channel index encoder for precise control.

High-density interconnect for high-speed signals
The Ultra High Density (UHD) system is a cable-to-board and cable-to-cable coaxial interconnect for high-speed signals. It is ideal for test heads and probe cards used in automated test equipment, front-of-system connections, and backplanes in high-data-rate applications, as well as bench-top testing. UHD works at 15 GHz, and supports data rates to 10 Gbits/sec. PC board-mounted interposers/headers and low-loss coaxial assemblies can be ganged together in multi-position housings for high-packaging densities (0.12 in. signal-to-signal spacing). Single or ganged housing cable assemblies provide insertion loss of 0.90 dB/ft or less through 6 GHz with low loss cable, and 0.75 dB/ft or less through 6 GHz with ultra-low loss cable.

The thermistors work in a temperature range of -58 to 482°F (-50 to 250°C) and feature a glass sealed body for high reliability and stability. Designed in a DO35 industry-standard package for convenient PCB mounting, they feature high thermal-cycle endurance. Performance qualities include standard tolerance ranges of ±1%, ±3%, and ±5%, and a dissipation value of 2.4 mW/°C in still air with a typical thermal time constant of 15 sec. Resistance values of 25°C are available from 1K to 47K ž. Maximum power rating is 250 mW (at 25°C). The DT Series is manufactured with 0.20-in. tin-plated leads.

Calculate electricity use
Version 10.0 of Baldor's electronic catalog on CD-ROM lets users access a wide variety of technical information on over 6,500 different motors, drives, and generators. Product information includes nameplate data, dimension drawings, performance and test data, replacement parts, and accessories. The catalog includes the BE$T Energy $avings Tool, which calculates an existing motor's annual electricity usage based on its nominal efficiency-verses the annual electricity usage of Baldor Standard-E or Super-E premium efficiency motors. It also calculates savings on a group of motors when they are changed to Baldor motors. In addition, BE$T can calculate energy savings when using a variable-speed drive.

Extra-large threaded connectors
Extra large-bore high-flow threaded connectors allow for faster delivery of viscous fluids and avoid the risk of connection errors between incompatible fluid systems. The extra-large bore threaded male connector, and female connector are composed of ABS, 1.5-in. long, and have a 6 mm OD. The 5 mm large, 6 mm extra large, and 8 mm super large-bore threaded connectors will only mate up to each other, not to standard luers. All connectors are available in custom colors for an additional charge.

Power supply meets RoHS demands
The LPT18, an ac input, dual dc output, switch-mode power supply is aimed at RoHS-compliant requirements. Intended for 0 to 50°C operation, the convection-cooled LPT18 provides 18 W of power with outputs of +5.1 Vdc (3.0A) and -5 Vdc (1.5 A) at up to 85% efficiency. The LPT18 provides a wide input voltage range of 100 to 240 Vac (47 to 63 Hz, single phase) and maximum input currents of 0.4 ARMS and 0.2 ARMS at 115 Vac and 230 Vac, respectively, at rated load. The LPT18's single-switch fly-back converter operates in a discontinuous variable-frequency mode to provide a transient response of ±3%. The input transient protection provided by the MOV transient and surge absorber meets EN61000-4-5 level 3 surge-withstand specifications. Isolation between output terminals and chassis ground is better than 20 Megohms at 100 VDC.

Fabric D-connector EMI/RFI shielding gaskets
Standard D-connector metalized fabric-over-elastomer gaskets shield most 9-pin through 50-pin connectors. Gaskets are offered in five standard sizes and multiple material thicknesses. The EMI/RFI shielding gaskets have compression set values of less than 3%. Installation is simple and fast with Stick-on mounting. Nickel plating over a highly conductive copper substrate provides the electrical characteristics necessary for shielding effectiveness of greater than 100dB attenuation. The corrosion-resistant plating has superior galvanic compatibility, which increases shielding longevity. Metalized fabric is bonded to a low compression force, open-celled polyurethane foam. Soft to the touch, this user-friendly shielding is flexible and provides continuous contact between mating surfaces.
