Miniature stepper has 12-mm dia.

The ADM1220S series miniature stepper motor has a 12-mm diameter and 17.2-mm length. The motor has a holding torque of 2.4 mNm and can hit a high-boost torque of 4.1 mNm. The ADM1220S also has 20 full steps/rev in full step mode and is capable of 160 microsteps/rev with a max error of +/- 0.2° at speeds from 10 to 6,000 rpm. The rugged stepper has a strong 1.5-mm diameter output shaft, large bearings, and no axial endplay to lessen rotational noise. The motor can be combined with a gearhead, or lead screw, or both for a miniature drive system or linear actuator.

Portable heater generates 500W

The HL2 Lux-therm Portable Infrared Heater is a high-intensity quartz lamp which provides instant, flameless radiant heat. HL2 uses two clear, high intensity, 500 W lamps to produce a surface temperature of 680F (360C) within 150 sec. The unit has two heat ranges: low intensity with one heat lamp switched on, and high intensity with both on. The unit works well in applications such as baking electrostatic paint finishes, plastics curing and forming, preheating before welding, stress relieving, and drying.

How to produce a service manual

The several modules of Arbortext provides comprehensive out-of-the-box software for creating, publishing, and delivering technical service manuals. For example, Arbortext Editor combines configuration files and authoring templates with word processing that lets users create text in reusable components that are configured and formatted. Publishing Engine applies styling for service information, such as procedures, diagnostics, hazard statements, and fault isolation trees. It also publishes tailored, audience-specific service manuals in several languages and media types. Electronic service manuals can contain interactive graphics and animations. IsoDraw lets users create technical illustrations from scratch or by reusing 3D CAD models.

Point-to-point robot moves made simple

A new driver for National Instruments' LabVIEW graphical programming environment allows creating motion profiles in LabView running on a standard PC with Windows XP for simple point-to-point moves in test and measurement, lab automation, and other applications. This driver couples the power of LabVIEW via a PCI communication card running Mechatrolink, a digital servo network, to Yaskawa's family of AC servo drives and motors. This gives LabVIEW users full use of the broadest range of servo products from 10W to 75kW.
