Connectors for robotics and nuclear jobs

The N Series connectors have been updated to include new shell styles and additional features in size 5. The connectors are usually made of stainless steel and are intended for use with robotic applications. The 5N has wider grip areas, 90° shells, and for many connections, a new patented key system that lets users configure and change to any of 32 combinations. The features make remote-connection jobs easier with no-turn push-pull connections, reduced operator stress with visually assured connection, and cost savings in reduced inventories.

Mix and match contact types in small package

High performance Hybrid Connectors can be assembled into many configurations with fiber optic, coax, and electrical contacts, with inserts for transmitting fluid or gas. They are machined from solid brass, plated with electroless nickel and chrome, and are corrosion resistant. Gold plated signal contacts, tested to over 50,000 mating cycles, can be combined with impedance controlled coaxial contacts with maximum frequencies of 1.35 dB signal loss at 10 GHz.

Circular connector has coax and power contacts

D02 plastic connectors are for use in electronic catheters, patient monitors, and wearable therapeutic devices. They come with one coaxial contact (rated up to 18 GHz) and up to nine signal contacts (rated for 2.5 A). The coax can be replaced with a 25 A power contact in the same housing. Options include seven to 25 signal contacts, three 8 A power contacts, and combinations of signal and power with two 8-amp power contacts and up to seven 2.5 A signals in the same connector. The Hypertac hyperboloid contact system provides high cycle life, low insertion force, low contact resistance, and immunity to shock and vibration. Thermoplastic housings protect contacts in cable-to-panel and cable-to-cable applications.

High density push-and-click connectors

The PL900 series of Pulse-Lok medical instrumentation connectors simplifies mating and provides tactile and visual confirmation that the pair is engaged. Low-cost disposable and rugged reusable models have densities to 52 contact positions in a 900-thousandth diameter package. The series also features low-cost receptacle components as well as automated wire-termination options, which include multi-contact solder pads and crimp and poke-stamped contacts. Optional integrated passive and active electronic components identify and limit the use of single-use disposable catheters. The series is EtO, gamma, and steam sterilizable, and sealed to IP-67 standards.

Lead wires for muscle stimulation

Thermal plastic rubber jacketed wires, DIN spec. 0.08-in. diameter pins, and 0.08-in. female gold connectors make lead wires for muscle stimulation that are flexible, soft, hypo-allergenic, and resistant to chemicals. The nickel-plated pins have a gold plating option. Connectors and pins are over-molded with TPR for longer life. They can be cleaned in the field. Lead wires meet ANSI/AAMI EC53 specifications.

Molded cordsets and receptacles come in 6, 7, and 9 pins

M23 powerfast cordsets and receptacles deliver power (up to 20 A at 300 V) to motors, material-handling, and other heavy-duty applications, and are available in six, seven, and nine-pins. They replace hardwiring to bring power to devices on the factory floor. The quick-disconnect cordsets are simple to use. The six and seven-pin configurations come with 14 AWG at 20 A and 300 V. The nine-pin unit is available with three 14 AWG (rated at 20 A) and six 18 AWG (rated at 8A and 150 V). Each configuration is offered with PVC cable and connectors that provide waterproof protection to IEC IP 67.

Bus-based connectors are shielded from electromagnetic fields

Bus-based connectors for multiposition and shielded implementation resist vibration and are safe against interference from electromagnetic fields. With these inserts, the ODU MAC modular attachable product program receives data rates up to 400 Mbit/sec, according to IEEE 1394-1995. The connectors are compatible with Profibus, Interbus, P-Net, and CAN-Bus.
