Desktop power to 100W

The MW159 series of 100-watt, external, switch-mode power supplies for medical applications is certified to IPX1 standards. Marketed under the Ault brand name, the MW159 is a single output family available in four voltages with power from 80 to 100W. The power supplies are well-suited to medical-device designs that demand power beyond 75W. For a medical product, IPX1 provides a higher than ordinary level of protection from vertically dripping water, leaks, and spills. The MW159 series is IPX1 drip-proof which makes it safe for use in harsher medical environments where spills may occur. The MW159 also meets CE, EN and IEC standards and is available in 12, 15, 18, and 24-volt models. The desktop-style Ault MW159 series is well suited for a wide range of medical applications including diagnostic and imaging equipment, monitors of all types, lighting, oxygen concentrators, blood analyzers and related disciplines such as dentistry equipment.

Single and dual-output power

The SMM201 medical grade switcher is part of the ZVS, High Efficiency Eagle II Family of medical power supplies. The high-density, low leakage, 200W medical power-supply features a 85 to 264 Vac input with active power-factor correction to minimize input harmonic distortion. The SMM201 measures 1.39 × 3.0 × 5.0-in. with a power density of 13.33 watts/in3. The unit delivers its full rated output of 200W with 15 LFM of forced air and has a convection rating of 150W. As a single output model the SMM201 features a high current main output with available voltages from 12 to 60 Vdc up to 200 watts. The dual output model has a second output with voltages ranging from 3.3 to 12V with a current rating up to 5A. The small, low-power switcher is well suited for medical applications, including medical-diagnostic devices, patient monitors, cosmetic lasers, and respiratory systems.

Small, rugged power supplies for medical applications

A catalog for medical and industrial applications shows the company's ac-to-dc converters with power from 5 to 30 watts and output from 3.3 to 28 Vdc. It includes isolated 1.5 W miniature dc/dc converters with factory-configurable outputs from 50 to 300 Vdc, 90% efficiency, and superior load regulation (3% delta from no load to full load). New for 2008: an expanded custom section that showcases the company's custom power-supply design and manufacturing capabilities. Examples include a 180-watt dc/dc converter with 4000 Vac input/output isolation, a 660-W medical power supply with a low 5 micro-amp leakage current, and a 10-W constant power dc/dc converter with high efficiency for battery-powered products.

Up to four single-phase UPSs in parallel

The UniStar P series single-phase online Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) features powerful protection over a wide input voltage range. This true double-conversion UPS is available in 6, 8, and 10-kVA models, to protect from outages and irregularities in incoming line voltages from 160 to 280 VA at 45 to 65 Hz. Up to 4 UniStar P modules can be installed in parallel for redundancy or additional capacity. With near unity input power factor and ac-to-ac efficiency greater than 90% that meets industry standards for energy savings and, less than 5% reflected harmonics, the UniStar P is ideal for medical imaging equipment or any sensitive electronic devices.

Dc-to-dc converters work in high temperatures

A line of dc-to-dc converters, the iHG series of 100W fully isolated, single output, half-brick devices, provide exceptional thermal performance using the industry standard half-brick footprint without a base plate. The modules are ideal for low airflow, high temperature, 48V power architectures, for wireless, medical, industrial and other applications. Initial products include 5V 10A, 5V 20A, and 3.3V 30A devices, with further products planned. A single-board construction combined with up to 93% efficiency delivers a high level of useable power in convection-cooled environments and where airflow rates are low.

Clean power for lab equipment

The FH series biomedical and laboratory-grade UPS protects valuable tests and scientific processes, assuring a high level of pure power required by analyzers, sequencers, diagnostic equipment, and gas chromatography/mass spectrometer instrumentation, as well as other sensitive testing and computerized processing equipment. The FH Series' double conversion, on-line design provides clean and tightly regulated power that assures the highest level of protection for a wide spectrum of scientific equipment. By regenerating clean ac power, the FH Series eliminates costly testing inaccuracies, ensures sustained runtimes, increases throughput, and lowers maintenance costs. The units' on-line design also provides “no-break” battery backup unlike other UPS products that are not designed for the demands of sensitive lab instrumentation.
