Step up the pace
You don't have to belong to the jet set or be a Hollywood star to have your own personal trainer. Your daily exercise can be an enriching, entertaining experience with the Nintendo Personal Trainer: Walking game.
Your “personal trainer” — Two Activity Meter accessories that come with each game — will monitor your steps taken throughout the day and create charts and activities to reveal life-rhythm patterns. Readouts could show that you are most active in the evening or it would highlight the longest active period in a given day. The meters are synced to send data wirelessly using a Nintendo DS Lite or Nintendo DSi system, where the data is converted into visual displays of interesting statistics. The accessories can store up to seven days' worth of information, while the Nintendo DS Game Card holds up to five years' worth of downloaded data. Individual results for four people can be stored on a single Personal Trainer: Walking game card. Pets can get into the action, too, when meters are attached to their collars.
“Walking is by far America's favorite physical activity,” says walking expert Mark Fenton. “For many people, Personal Trainer: Walking is just the thing to keep them motivated and have fun with walking.”
“Whether you walk for pleasure or exercise, Personal Trainer: Walking will keep track of your movements and help you set goals for yourself,” says Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Users can import customized Mii characters from the Wii console, or design their own Mii character when creating game profiles. Accumulated walking data can be incorporated into fun activities. One example, “Walk the World,” transforms footsteps into iconic images of locations around the globe.
