Tube bending takes shape

Bent tubing is often a critical component for precision laboratory equipment and for interventional medical devices for arthroscopy, endoscopy, cardiology, orthopedics, and ophthalmics. Point Technologies bends and forms metal tubing, including stainless steel, MP35N, titanium, and several other alloys in diameters from 0.004 to 0.250-in. OD. The process is automated with several types of quick-change tooling for rapid prototyping. Automatic camera inspection offers high quality, fast production times, and full traceability. In addition to tube bending, the company offers small hole drilling, slotting, notching, flaring, electropolishing of almost all metals and alloys, electrochemical sharpening, electroplating, passivation, and oxide removal for all metals, including Nitinol.

Tubing for high temps

Dual-shrink tubing of fluoropolymer PTFE/FEP is constructed with an exterior of heat-shrink PTFE and an inner layer of FEP. It is easy to apply, and provides a tight, moisture-proof bond over wires, cables, connectors, splices, and terminals. The PTFE shrinks tightly over inserted parts after heating the covered section, while the FEP melts and flows into a solid or near-solid encapsulation with a fit so tight that it can withstand severe stresses involving pull or vibration. Dual-shrink tubing provides all the electrical, chemical, and mechanical properties of PTFE, including a service temperature up to 450°F (232°C). Custom specifications and tolerances are quoted upon request.
