Medical Silicone Conference issues call for abstracts

Joe Jancsurak

The second Medical Silicone Conference (MSC), sponsored by Medical Design magazine, will be held this fall in Southern California (date and location to be announced). The first-ever Medical Silicone Conference held in April in Minneapolis attracted nearly 150 attendees and 20 exhibitors, and the second one promises to even stronger.

“Southern California is a great location for materials and device companies, and it promises to be a great location for this conference,” says Medical Design Publisher Bill Rodman.  “There are many key topics that we will be addressing as part of our speaker program.”

With that said, Medical Design is seeking abstracts on the following topics:
• Achieving 510(k) clearance
• Silicones for non-implantables and short-term implantables
• Silicones for long-term implantables
• Antimicrobial silicones
• Micromolding
• Inspection techniques/equipment
• Testing & Quality
• Topical drug delivery
• Rapid prototyping
• Tooling challenges
• Surface modification
• Two-shot molding/Adhesion Bonding/Overmolding
• Emerging Trends & Developments

Send your 250-word abstracts to bill.rodman@medicaldesign.com on or before July 1. Abstracts will be evaluated according to content, clarity, and uniqueness.  Those only promoting specific companies and their products will be disqualified.
