Order This Custom Nylon Your Way

Four nylon compounds meet flame-retardant requirements and provide a range of performance and regulatory-compliance options for injection molders of electrical and electronic components. The nylons, from Chem Polymer Corp., Fort Myers, Fla., (chempolymer.com), are UL 94 listed as V-0 formulations and include glass fiber-reinforced grades with halogen flame retardants and unreinforced, nonhalogenated grades. The company manufactures these and other thermoplastic compounds on a custom basis and offers them with a wide range of fillers, reinforcements, and modifiers.

The four new compounds include Chemlon 133 GVH, a nylon 66-based compound with 30% glass-fiber reinforcement by weight, plus a halogenated flame retardant formulation. Chemlon 182 is nylon 66-based and nonhalogenated. Chemlon 233 GVH is nylon 6-based with 33% glass fiber, plus a halogenated flame retardant formulation. And Chemlon 282 is nylon 6-based and nonhalogenated.
