USP Class VI polymer colorants
Medical-grade polymer colorants are suitable for use in such applications as medical device housings and medical packaging made using blow molding, injection molding, or extrusion processes.
The OnColor HC Plus line of colorants from Avon, Lake, OH-based PolyOne Corp, a provider of specialized polymer materials, is precertified to meet or exceed ISO 10993 requirements. Certification that these colorants comply with biocompatibility requirements enables increased efficiency in the design process and the ability to bring products to market faster. This certification of the USP Class VI colorants also allows device manufacturers to move more quickly to the regulatory testing phase of product development.
Offered in standard and custom colors, the colorants are currently available in seven medical-grade resin carrier forms, as well as in liquid form. Additional carriers are pending. The supplier also offers a color-selector tool to help simplify the color evaluation process.
