Conveyor Ready for Cleanrooms
A recent low-profile conveyor system is well-suited for cleanroom environments. The flexible Quickdraw conveyor system from MagStar Technologies, a maker of modular conveyor systems, Hopkins, Minn., (magstar.com) features minimal moving elements — only sealed ball bearings move — helping to eliminate serviceing or replaceing costly belts.
At only 2.875 in. high and 1.5 in. wider than the transport tray, it has a 50% smaller footprint than other conveyors. The company says it is easier to maintain than larger systems.
Integrated sensors give users conveyor control within specific zones. Flexibility comes from a variable speed drive, bi-directional transport, changeable layouts, and precision stopping for tight-tolerance processing. The control system is self-contained with plug-and-go operation so no PLC is needed for set-up or operation.
