Learn to control noise and vibration

The Milwaukee School of Engineering and Medical Design will conduct a four-day seminar (24 class hours total) on April 24 to 27 on the modeling and analysis of mechanical systems under free and forced vibration. The class looks at vibration and noise reduction techniques in systems with one, two, and more degrees of freedom. Lab demonstrations and Matlab Simulink simulations will cover vibration measurement and experimental modal testing. The course includes presentation on ISO standards, and the impact of vibration and noise on the human body. Upon completion, participants should be able to model and analyze simple vibratory systems, solve equations of motion for single degree of freedom systems (time response and frequency analysis), identify strategies for vibration control, and more.
