Linear Guide Runs Fast and Smooth to Any Length

A compact linear guide has proven reliable in challenging operating environments, according to developer Bishop Wisecarver Inc., Pittsburgh, Calif. bwc.com. UtiliTrak uses a three-wheel carriage assembly captured in a U-channel guide rail. The fore and aft guide wheels are mounted with concentric studs, while the center guide wheel is mounted on an adjustable eccentric stud. The eccentrically mounted guide wheel lets operators adjust the fit-up between the carriage and rail. This tailors the guide for free play, stiffness, and drag as needed. BWC says the linear guide installs easily and needs minimal maintenance. The company also says advantages include a low installed cost, low noise, smooth running, high speeds, unlimited travel length, and a high load capacity.
