A new version of the 36mm G4 linear actuator by Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions, Waterbury, CT, includes an adapter plate that allows the smaller 36mm OD unit to replace existing size 14 hybrid stepper motor linear actuators using the same bolt pattern and pilot surface.

Performance of the 36mm G4 exceeds the performance of comparable size can-stack actuators and meets the performance of larger hybrid size 14 frame size actuators. Force output range of the G4 36mm can-stack is from 70 to 260N (16 to 58 lb). The design uses optimized teeth geometry along with high-energy neodymium magnets, resulting in a higher continuous force output in a small package. Applications include medical equipment and laboratory instrumentation requiring high force in a small package.
