GE Healthcare expands home health business
GE Healthcare, Chalfont St. Giles, UK, has bought Living Independently Group Inc. to expand its home health care business. GE Healthcare initially acquired a minority stake in the New York company in September 2008, with plans to develop a passive monitoring system called QuietCare for use worldwide. QuietCare uses wireless sensors to track the daily patterns of a senior's activities and alerts caregivers of changes that may signal health issues or emergencies. GE Healthcare is a unit of a unit of General Electric Co.
