The JADE line of miniature diaphragm pumps now includes a pump with an electronically commutated brushless dc motor (BLDC). This provides a more linear flow and pressure/vacuum curve as compared to a standard dc motor or other BLDC motors in this size range. The motors come with integrated control electronics and are powered by a four-wire cable with male connector. Reference inputs and motor speeds deliver a wide pneumatic performance range (2.5 to 11.0 lpm, depending on the model) and increases in pressure cause the motor speed to adjust automatically. Electronic commutation is almost wear-free, so the pumps have an operating life of at least 10,000 hr under standard conditions. The units’ ultra-lightweight, compact, and closed construction make it suitable for use in a variety of medical and analytical devices, laboratories, and general mechanical engineering.
