First-ever MPC and AdvaMed 2011 are musts

Medical Design’s first-ever Medical Prototyping Conference (MPC) is fast approaching, and if you have anything at all to do with the design and development of medical devices you and your colleagues really need to make plans to be in Minneapolis September 7-8. Medical Design is also a proud media sponsor of AdvaMed 2011, the fifth annual MedTech Conference, which is expected to attract more than 1,700 medtech attendees from around the world. You need to be there, too.

Rubber Expo to include "Advanced Materials in Health Care"

Readers underwhelmed by FDA’s 510(k) efforts

Speed Controller SC 5004 & 5008 for brushed and brushless motors

Two new speed controllers have been added to Clearwater, FL-based MICROMO’s (FAULHABER Group) controller range. The PI Controller series is software-configurable, so there’s no need for trimmers or DIP switches, and it can be operated with one controller, either as brushed direct-current (DC) motors or electronically commuted brushless (BL) drives, also with integrated Hall sensors. Depending on the operating mode, the speed can be controlled to between 50 and 60,000 rpm.

TPE resin for catheters

NanoMed EX is a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) by Putnam, CT-based Foster Corp, a PolyMedex Discovery Group company, is made of flexible polyether and rigid polyamide compounds.
