GE, Intel announcement is big, really big

When GE, the world’s 12th-largest company by revenue ($176.6 billion in 2008) according to Fortune magazine, announced it is joining with the world’s largest chip maker, Intel, to develop home-based health technologies, it signaled the continued transformation of an American icon. The financial commitment by both companies is big. So is the market potential.

OCD patients may benefit from implantable device

Syringe Testing

Instron® systems are used extensively by the biomedical industry for test applications ranging from biomaterials, such as human and bio-engineered tissues, to devices using medical-grade plastics, including syringes. A 5545 single column system fitted with a syringe fixture is used to collect force versus time data, and to determine the peak load and load values at specified points of plunger displacement.




CAD and CAM for dental work
A computer-aided design program is for dental restorations, including copings, crowns, and bridge frameworks, while a knowledge-based machining software assists with manufacturing the components. The programs, DentCAD and DentMILL can work together through complete design and manufacturing. Developer Delcam, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, says both programs can be used with software and hardware from other companies.
