Medical-grade polymers provide glass-like transparency
Medical-grade Tritan copolyester materials by Eastman Chemical, Kingsport, TN, are engineered for applications requiring glasslike transparency, polycarbonate-comparable impact resistance, and retention of properties after gamma, electronic beam, and ethylene oxide sterilization. The materials exhibit 90% light transmittance, and are made without bisphenol-A, now under review by FDA. Applications include syringes, IV system components, respiratory devices, and blood therapy devices.
